This is a frame. The DOSI is:

There are two fixed supports. A fixed support has three reactions (lateral, vertical, rotational).

Joints (j = 6)

There is a joint at every reaction, free end, and intersection of elements.

Frame Members (n_frame = 4)

There are four frame member segments.

Strut Members (n_strut = 2)

There are two rigid strut member segments.

Equations of Condition (e_c = 0)

There are no internal rollers or hinges.

Degree of Static Indeterminacy (DOSI = 2)

r + 3n_frame + n_strut – [3j + e_c] = 6 + 3(4) + 2 – [3(6) + 0] = 2
